First there is the trust factor. Not only do you need someone you can trust, but you need someone whose opinions you respect.
Often the first person you think of is the person who helps you set up the business – an accountant or solicitor. But these people are not ideal for the job of mentor. They are usually time-challenged and may not have the direct start-up experience needed in a mentor.
