In a 2015 survey by The Executive Connection (TEC) of chief executives and small and medium business owners (SMBs), 37 per cent said the biggest barrier to growth was their ability to develop new innovation.
"Small business owners might be worried about trying new technologies for fear of them not working," says Adam. "We can put [the technology] in front of them so they can test the capabilities for themselves, and share customer stories and tangible metrics with them to prove how these technologies are working for small business."
Other concerns cited in the TEC report were finding the right staff (35%) and securing funding (20%).
"Cash flow will always be a hot topic for small business owners," says Adam. "We talk with them to uncover the underlying challenges behind the cash flow issue, such as double handling and invoices not getting out quickly enough, and can suggest ways to overcome this -- using things such as mobile devices or apps."
Ultimately, Telstra Business Centres are a local partner offering help and support to Telstra's customers. "We've got the knowledge and resources to help you work around any number of business challenges," says Adam. "You could even come into a centre and set up a small business from scratch on the spot."
